Why this matters

Your child's brain forms 1 million neural connections per second. What you do with that window defines everything.

Most parents track one thing — cognitive development. Can they count? Can they read? But the research is clear: children develop across four pillars simultaneously. A child who reads early but can't regulate their emotions isn't ahead. They're imbalanced. And imbalance shows up in Grade 1.

This assessment checks all four — in about 10 minutes — calibrated to the CDC's 75th percentile standard. You'll see where your child is strong, where they need support, and which pillar to focus on first.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this a clinical diagnostic tool?
No. This is a parent self-assessment based on the Zedek Tikkun Model, calibrated to the CDC's 75th percentile standard. It's designed to give you a directional snapshot — not a diagnosis. If results flag concerns, we recommend discussing them with your child's paediatrician or a developmental specialist.
What age range does this cover?
The quick assessment covers 12 age bands from birth to 9 years: 0–3 months, 3–6 months, 6–12 months, 12–18 months, 18–24 months, 2–3 years, 3–4 years, 4–5 years, 5–6 years, 6–7 years, 7–8 years, and 8–9 years. Each age band has milestones specifically calibrated to that developmental stage.
What do the four pillars mean?
Physical covers motor skills, body awareness, and the neurological foundations for learning. Personal covers emotional regulation, social connection, and resilience. Potential covers cognitive growth, language, and academic readiness. Purpose covers identity, character, and spiritual formation. Together they give you a whole-child picture — not just an academic one.
What does the "75th percentile" standard mean?
In 2022, the CDC moved their milestone benchmarks from the 50th to the 75th percentile. This means if a milestone says a child should be doing something by a specific age, 75% of children have already achieved it. If your child hasn't, they're in the bottom 25% for that skill — a signal to pay attention, not to panic. Most apps haven't updated to this standard. Zedek has.
What happens after I complete the assessment?
You'll see your child's scores instantly on screen — percentage scores for each of the four pillars. Enter your email and we'll send you a detailed report with full interpretation, pillar-by-pillar recommendations, specific activities for your child's age, and your recommended next steps. The assessment results email arrives within minutes.
Is my child's data safe?
Yes. We're POPIA compliant. Your data is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. We collect only what's needed to deliver your results and, if you choose, to invite you to our free Thursday webinar. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Can I assess more than one child?
Absolutely. After completing the assessment for one child, click "Start over with a different age" to assess another. Each child gets their own score and their own emailed report. Your email automation only sends the follow-up sequence once — so you won't receive duplicate emails.

This assessment is based on the Zedek Tikkun Level 1 framework, calibrated to the CDC 75th percentile standard. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool. For a comprehensive 138-milestone assessment, visit app.zedekkids.co.za.
