About Us
As parents ourselves, we want to get the maximum benefit of our children’s playtime. We wanted to ensure that they play with a purpose with high quality toys and most importantly having fun whilst we bond with them. Foundational education is important to us, so we wanted to incorporate it into our toys that will help a child prepare for their educational journey and specifically for primary schooling
Zedek was conceptualised in 2023 by Alton & Leesha. There are three mains reason this idea was born and their names are Elijah, Noah and Atarah. Alton, a professional mechanical engineer and Leesha, a banker, decided to start this journey to help parents, just like themselves, to understand early childhood development in a simple way. To be able to break it down into the simplest of pillars so that it can be practically applied. They have undergone extensive study on the main tenets that children need to develop in, so that they can have an opportunity to succeed in their educational journey by working on the critical stages of their development.
Various curriculum have been studied from the USA, several Nordic regions, the UK and South Africa which forms the backbone of determining the 7 pillars of early childhood development. As a result, parents will have a tool in their hand that will enable them to gather early indications of their child’s development and then have resources recommended to them to enhance a child’s ability or bridge the gap where further development is required.
Zedek was not established to just sell toys but it’s about providing resources for a child to learn, play and create in a way that allows a parent to know that they are doing their very best at parenting.

Stacking Rocks
Our stacking rocks are made of high quality wood and are hand polished for a burr free finish. The coatings used for various colors are kid friendly and non-toxic. The rocks are specifically designed in a polyhedral shape to bring out creativity and develop the key areas for child development. Many development areas in mathematics, fine motor skills, sensory development, basic knowledge, cognitive & language development is achieved by just playing with our stacking rocks.
As our first product line, we wanted to have a fundamental and purest form of play to set the bedrock of what is to come. There is something about the feel and smell of high quality wood that sensory elements are stimulated by. The design intention is to create as much open ended play as possible whilst allowing children to feel different textures and interact with everyday materials, identifying it and being creative with it. The intention is to have toys that last a long time and that can be handed down, creating sustainability.
