CHRIST-CENTRED CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Your child's brain is 90% developed by age 5.

What are you doing about it?

Zedek gives you one science-backed, faith-rooted framework to track, understand, and nurture your child’s development across four pillars — from birth to age 9.

WE SEE YOU

You love your child deeply. And some days, that love comes with a quiet worry you can’t switch off.

You don’t need another app. You need one clear framework — rooted in science, grounded in faith. That’s Zedek.

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Luke 2:52 — The developmental blueprint

The Zedek Tikkun Model

Four pillars. One complete picture.

Most tools track one dimension of development. Zedek tracks all four — because your child isn't just a brain. They're a body, a heart, a mind, and a soul.

Physical

The operating system

Motor skills, body awareness, and the movement foundations that wire your child's brain for all learning.

Physical development is the fundamental operating system required for all cognitive integration. This pillar tracks fine motor skills (hand strength, precision grip, bilateral coordination), gross motor skills (locomotion, balance, vestibular processing), general coordination (crossing the midline, proprioception), sports foundations, and health and nutrition awareness.

Fine motor Gross motor Coordination Sports & games Health & nutrition
"Movement is the engine of learning. Your child cannot think clearly if their body hasn't learned to move well." — Based on Ayres (1979) Sensory Integration Theory

Personal

Heart-smarts

Emotional regulation, social connection, and the attachment security that predicts lifelong resilience.

This pillar integrates 34 validated social and emotional measures — attachment milestones, joint attention, Theory of Mind, inhibitory control, emotional vocabulary, regulation strategies, growth mindset, peer relationships, and moral development. Contains critical Red Flag items (absence of social smile, eye contact, joint attention, pointing by 12 months) — primary autism screening markers weighted ×3 in our scoring model.

Attachment Emotional regulation Social skills Empathy Self-concept
"Emotional intelligence — not IQ — is the strongest predictor of lifelong success, relationships, and wellbeing." — Based on Durlak et al. (2011) & Heckman (2006)

Potential

The cognitive engine

Cognitive growth, language, problem-solving — the thinking skills that school readiness truly requires.

Cognition disaggregated into specialised perceptual and logical components — auditory and visual perceptual skills, cognitive development (attention, working memory, executive function, planning), language and communication (emergent literacy through reading and handwriting), mathematics (concrete → representational → abstract), creative development, and scientific reasoning. Not reduced to a single "smart or not" score.

Auditory perception Visual perception Language & literacy Maths & reasoning Creative development
"The brain forms more than one million neural connections per second in the first three years of life." — UNICEF (2023); Shonkoff & Phillips (2000)

Purpose

Identity & calling

Spiritual formation, character, and identity — raising a child who knows who God created them to be.

Dual-track system honouring diverse family values. The Christian Track (Luke 2:52) covers core beliefs, God's family, God's rescue plan, holy actions, and "What's my purpose?" The Secular/Values Track covers core values, identity and self-concept, scientific curiosity, empathy and making amends, community belonging, and personal contribution. Both tracks are validated — parents choose which aligns with their family.

ABOUT ZEDEK

Built by father and a mother  who couldn’t find what their children needed.

Zedek was founded by Alton — a mechanical engineer and Leesha – a banker; parents of three in Johannesburg, South Africa. When they couldn’t find a single system that tracked their children’s development holistically, honoured their faith, and gave them clear next steps, they built one.

The result is the Zedek Tikkun Model — a proprietary ECD framework that maps child development from birth to age 9 across four interdependent pillars (Physical, Personal, Potential, Purpose), calibrated to the CDC’s 75th percentile milestone standard and grounded in the Luke 2:52 developmental blueprint.

Zedek translates the world’s best developmental research — from Johns Hopkins, Cambridge, the CDC, and Nobel laureate James Heckman — into tools and frameworks that any parent can understand and use. The science informs. The faith anchors. The parent leads.
